The pre-school department of Little Fingers Day Nursery in Darenth, Kent is organised around the EYFC document.

The pre-school department is designed taking in to consideration the EYFS document. Although this is a time when most children need structured approach to their development, they still need to learn through play-based activities.

We can look after 24 children per day.

We ensure that each individual child is learning through high quality play, that's tailored to them. They then can develop at their own pace, having fun, making friends and learning as they play, this helps them become confident children, who when the times come are better prepared for school. Pre-school children  have access to ICT equipment, role play areas, messy play, mark making, small word and construction areas and children are encouraged to make their own choices. Children are also given roles and responsibilities and help with tidying up, setting tables and preparing snacks. We also encourage children to put on their own coats, shoes and use the toilet competently, all preparing them for their first year at 'Big School.
